Project Summary
Umberslade provided all labour, plant and materials to install Cintec anchors into a bridge structure over a watercourse in Shrewsbury.
The challenge
This job needed care on two fronts. The diamond core drilled holes had to be perfectly level and in line along their full depth, and all drilling slurry had to be collected so none of it entered the river below.
Schedule of Work
Our specialist site team diamond core drilled eight 52mm diameter blind holes horizontally into the bridge arch to 2.6 metres deep, holding accuracy throughout so the cores stayed level. We then installed and grouted eight Cintec stainless steel sock anchors, capturing the slurry as we went to protect the watercourse.
