A year ago, Diamond Drilling & Sawing became its own division at Umberslade. The aim was to give this side of the business its own focus, so clients needing precise drilling and cutting work had a team built around exactly that.
Twelve months on, it feels like the right time to look back at how the first year has gone.
The first year in numbers
Since launching, the division has completed 140 jobs for 53 different clients. That works out at more than two jobs per client on average, which tells us that a good number of the people we’ve worked with have come back to us for their next project.
Over the same period the team has provided 360 quotes. Not every enquiry turns into a job, but that level of interest shows there is real demand for a specialist drilling and sawing service, and that people are actively looking for a contractor they can rely on.
Where the work has taken us
Getting the team on site has meant covering 110,000 miles this year. Jobs have taken us from Cornwall to Hastings, from Mid Wales across to the East Coast, and up as far as North Yorkshire.
That reach matters to our clients. Many of them run projects in more than one region, and being able to call on the same team wherever the site happens to be makes life simpler for everyone involved.
Why a dedicated division
Diamond drilling and sawing is specialist work. It calls for the right equipment and people who do it day in, day out, particularly on live sites or where accuracy and minimal disruption are essential.
Giving it its own division means clients get a clear point of contact and a team focused entirely on this kind of work. It also means the service sits alongside the wider Umberslade offer, so clients can bring us in for drilling and sawing on its own or as part of a larger project.
