
Junior Contracts Manager: Groundworks
£30,000-£40,000 per year (dependent on experience) + Company Vehicle + Healthcase + Progression Opportunity
Umberslade’s groundworks division is a specialist sub-contractor that undertakes contracts up to £1.5M in size and carries out all aspects of site clearance, bulk excavation, enabling works, foundations, deep drainage, service installation, surfacing and paving works. It is a preferred supplier to one of the UK’s largest construction companies and prides itself in delivering high-quality, zero-snag work.
This is a wide-ranging and highly responsible role to assist the Groundworks Contracts Manager in overseeing Umberslade’s groundworks operations. The ideal candidate needs experience of groundworks and the knowledge & confidence to coordinate with multiple site managers and work directly with clients and suppliers.
Duties Include:

Liaison with client’s project managers and site managers

Working closely with Umberslade’s Operations Manager and site teams

Produce & update project management plans using software applications

Tracking project financials & preparing invoices

Preparation of project documentation
-
Preparation of team tool box talks
-
Procurement of construction materials and plant, managing suppliers & subcontractors

Management of labour agencies
-
Ensuring health and safety compliance; equipment & procedures
Candidate Requirements:
-
Experience working within a similar role - Contract Management, Project Controlling, Commercial Management etc

Groundworks experience - ideally management/supervision on site

Client facing experience

Experience in procurement
-
Project and resourcing planning experience, involving software applications

Passion to drive the growth of the groundworks division

Strong communicator (verbal & written)

Adaptable self-starter who can operate independently

Full driving license
